To discover the environment you can visit our local forests (Kempen) or walk through the famous hollow ways (12 m deep) which cross Halen’s hills. Bike tours pass alongside small rivers with water mills, old monuments (like the Sint-Jansberg monastery) and local museums (like the Reinvoart where you can taste the white Hageland wine on Saturdays and Sundays). Small towns like Halen, Herk-de-Stad, Diest are nearby.
You can relax on the garden terrace and enjoy the beer from Halen, brewed by Bier Anders.
You can discover this region with the large amount of documentation provided.
It is possible to visit the Memorial park 1914-1918, at 300m from us. Our B&B is a good starting point for walking and bike trips; these show you the beauty this small town has in stall for you.
Halen is known as the location of a famous battle which took place in the First World War. A lot of names find their origins in this `Slag der Zilveren Helmen’ (literally translated "The Battle of the Silver Helmets") in 1914 and you can visit the war museum Slag der Zilveren Helmen, open from May to October, near the battlefield.
The regional museum Streekmuseum De Reinvoart in Loksbergen is open during the weekend. With a regional beer in the inn with the many sayings, you can go back in time. A walk through the deepest sunken roads in Flanders also starts at the regional museum..
